Svaneti Backcountry have been hosting guided ski tours in Svaneti with IFMGA-certified guides since 2013. We have first-hand knowledge of the area, and we aim at combining local history and culture, with epic days in the magnificent mountains in Svaneti, Georgia.

Guided tours are perfect for the groups who want to get the most out of the riding, and enjoy the comfort of riding with our experienced guides. Our guides have vast experience from different locations, and they have first-hand knowledge of the area. The guides make the decision of the day based on the snowpack, weather conditions, level of the group, and the best lines.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi, and sightseeing in the beautiful and well preserved old town. Welcome-dinner in the evening.

Day 2: Transport from Tbilisi to Svaneti. Accommodation at Laleta Guesthouse in Latali. Svan feast with local Svan food, wine and folkmusic in the evening.

Day 3: Transport to Ushguli in the morning. This village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and offers some amazing skiing in the mountains below Mt. Shkhara, the highest mountain in Georgia. Transport back to Mestia in the afternoon.

Day 4: Lift-based touring at the Tetnuldi-resort. We aim at skiing down to a village called Adishi at the end of the day. This is one of the most unique villages in Svaneti, located at the foot of the majestic Mt Tetnuldi. Guesthouse in Mestia in the afternoon.

Day 5: In the morning we will be transported to the idyllic village of Etseri with genuine accommodation at one of our private host families. Etseri is one of the most beautiful villages in Svaneti and offers some of the best skiing in the area.

Day 6: Touring from Etseri to Becho over the mountain pass. The tour involves 1,200 vertical meters of skinning, with great views of the Laila Range, Ushba, and the Abkhasian part of the Caucasus. We finish the day by skiing down to the family owned Grand Hotel Ushba in Becho.

Day 7: Touring from Becho to Gol pass. This is the biggest day out during the week, but the altitude is not too severe. This is one of the most beautiful routes in Svaneti, and offers some amazing shredding. Transport to Tbilisi in the afternoon. Hotel in Tbilisi.

Day 8: Depature from Tbilisi airport

Itinerary is subject to change due to weather and snow/road conditions.

The tours are open for both individual and group-bookings, and we can host up to 10 persons per tour. The minimum requirement for the tours are 4 persons.
